I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have been in the mental health field for over a decade. As your psychotherapist, I endeavor to help you clearly determine and successfully work toward your goals. My goal is to accomplish this by developing a safe, positive and collaborative relationship based on respect, compassion, and trust.
In addition to my masters and doctorate in clinical psychology, I also have a masters degree in educational psychology and a bachelors degree, with honors, in remedial education. I have experience ranging from working with people struggling to adjust to daily life struggles to people who have chronic mental health problems and substance abuse.
Together, we work toward helping you enhance your coping skills and increasing insight. Perhaps you are coming to therapy because you feel stuck and need to think about your problems in a different way so that you can implement new skills. Perhaps you are coming to therapy because you want to understand why you might think, feel and behave a certain way, wanting to gain insight. Working together, we will help clarify your goals and establish a plan to achieve these. My methodology stems from both a relational and cognitive psychology perspective, examining how thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected as well as exploring the nature of interpersonal relationships and the difficulties that might arise.
